You certainly did not anticipate the unveiling of the Persona 5 Royal cooperative card game
In 2017, Persona 5 was the game that introduced us to the Phantom Thieves and gave us our first taste of stealing hearts. In the year 2020, Persona 5 Royal took that experience and made it even better by providing players with a heart that they would never forget to steal.
Although Persona 5 Strikers provided players with the opportunity to get back together with the Phantom Thieves, the game did not provide the same heart-pounding sensation that was so compelling in Persona 5 Royal. The Persona 5 Royal tabletop experience will now be available to gamers thanks to Pandasaurus Games’ decision to collaborate with Atlus on the development of a card game based on the franchise.
On October 21, 2022, Persona 5 Royal will be made available for players to enjoy on personal computers, Xboxes, and Nintendo Switches, even if they do not own a PlayStation. This new tabletop experience will be a terrific alternative way to convey the experience to individuals who don’t play video games. While more players will be able to experience the thrill of stealing hearts, the number of players who can do so will increase.
The Persona 5 Royal card game will be played with several players and will offer a cooperative mode. This is likely to encourage players to collaborate as the Phantom Thieves did in the video game. In addition to that, it will be a card-based strategy game, and when players are placed in challenging scenarios, they will need to carefully evaluate what action to do next.
Nathan McNair, who is also a co-owner of Pandasaurus Games, has addressed the possibility of incorporating Persona 5 Royal’s Velvet Room, Palaces, and the universe they inhabit into the card game. Since the protagonist needs to go to the Velvet Room in order to fuse demons, this location strongly suggests that demon fusion will play a key role in the gameplay of the game.
The presence of Palaces and the world of Persona 5 Royal hints that the game’s gameplay would switch between the Metaverse and ordinary Tokyo, with players moving back and forth between the two settings. There is a possibility that the gameplay may include Confidants, as well as perhaps unique abilities that will aid Thieves.
The Persona 5 Royal card game won’t be available for purchase until October 21, 2023; however, as the release date draws nearer, further details and cards will be made available for purchase. Players will be able to experience Persona 5 Royal on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch platforms as soon as it becomes available.
