XMG has disclosed its plans for the next generation of laptops, which will be available in 2023. These laptops will be equipped with processors from Intel’s 13th Generation Raptor Lake-HX and graphics processing units from NVIDIA RTX 40.
XMG is getting ready to release its 2023 laptop lineup, which will use high-end Intel Raptor Lake-HX processors and NVIDIA RTX 40 graphics processors.
The newest generation of laptop CPUs and graphics cards from NVIDIA and Intel are scheduled to be released on January 3rd, according to a press release. Even though the sales launch is not expected to occur until February, taking into account the embargoes of both companies, we would like to provide an overview of which XMG laptops with 13th Gen Intel Core CPUs and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 graphics cards can be expected very shortly. This information is being provided even though the sales launch is not scheduled to occur until February. A separate piece of news containing announcements with complete details on each specific model series will follow closer to when the product will be available.
Configurations, as well as a timetable
The following chart provides an overview of the new product releases planned at XMG between the first and second quarters of 2023. Laptops belonging to the FOCUS, PRO, NEO, and ULTRA series are included in the first release of brand-new items.
Our overview includes comparing the most critical specifications (processor, graphics card) of the models from the previous year with those of the new generation of laptops that will be released in 2023. These new laptops will be based entirely on Intel’s Core i9-13900HX processors and will feature displays capable of G-SYNC and NVIDIA Advanced Optimus.
This is a fundamental increase over previous generations of Intel Core CPUs, such as the 12th Gen Intel Core CPUs, when the performance gap between the two versions was significantly less. 13th Gen Intel Core HX CPUs tout a considerable performance jump compared to H-series processors.
Compared to a Core i9-13900H or an i7-13700H, each with only 14 cores, 20 threads, and 24 MB of cache, the Core i9-13900HX has 24 seats, 32 lines and 36 MB of cache, is significantly faster at moderately higher power limits. This is the case even though the Core i9-13900HX has increased cores and threads.
These XMG laptops are expected to become available early in 2023.
XMG FOCUS
The XMG FOCUS laptop series was originally our entry-level offering for gamers; however, the next-generation models of the FOCUS 15, FOCUS 16, and FOCUS 17 progress to the upper-performance mid-range: The new Core i9-13900HX from Intel has taken the place of the Core i7-12700H, which had 14 cores and 20 threads (24 seats, 32 lines).
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 has been replaced with the new RTX 4070, the most powerful graphics card configured for these laptops up until now. In addition, there is also an RTX 4060 and an RTX 4050 that may be used. The FOCUS series features a cooling system that is substantially more powerful than its predecessor to accommodate the significantly increased maximum performance.
XMG PRO
In the next generation, the XMG PRO 15 and PRO 17 will continue using the same well-established and well-known laptop chassis since the last age. The new features include an Intel Core i9-13900HX processor and graphics cards up to NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4070, both of which require a more powerful cooling system: Even though it used graphics cards as powerful as the RTX 3080 Ti, the 2022 model generation had much less overall graphics capability (watts).
On the other hand, the RTX 4070 will have the ability to permanently call up its full power of 140 watts whenever it is needed. In addition, the GeForce RTX 4060 or 4050 is an option for those interested in purchasing a PRO laptop.
XMG NEO
While the XMG NEO 16 is an all-new design with a 16-inch screen, the future NEO 17 will be an updated version of the model that came before it, which was already quite successful. Both laptops include high-end graphics cards that go up to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 and are powered by Intel’s Core i9-13900HX processors.
One of the standout features is the highly effective air cooling system, which enables even the flagship graphics card to maintain a constant graphics output of 175 watts over its entire lifespan.
In addition, the displays on the NEO laptops include a high-quality WQXGA IPS panel with 240 hertz and are formatted in a 16:10 aspect ratio. The optional XMG OASIS external liquid cooling system is also compatible with these laptops. Further information will be provided at the formal debut of the NEO 16 and NEO 17 products, which will take place in a few days.
XMG ULTRA
The 2023 XMG ULTRA 17 also sports a brand-new design from the ground up. It includes the Intel Core i9-13900HX processor and graphics cards from NVIDIA that go up to the level of the GeForce RTX 4090, much as the NEO series.
However, the ULTRA 17 will set a new standard for connection. Because it will have not one but two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a Mini DisplayPort, it will be an excellent choice for virtual reality (VR) and multi-monitor gaming. However, more information and a complete list of specs will not be made available until later. This is because the XMG ULTRA 17 will be introduced after the FOCUS, PRO, and NEO.
Additional proposals include those from AMD and Intel Arc, as well as XMG CORE and XMG FUSION.
What about laptops from XMG that are powered by AMD (with Ryzen 7000 processors and AMD graphics cards)?
Even though XMG laptops with AMD Ryzen 7000 processors and GeForce RTX graphics cards are already in the planning and development process, it is still too early for an official XMG product announcement or scheduling of availability – this applies to the CPUs that goes by the codename “Rembrandt+” as well as “Phoenix” (Zen 4).
In addition, XMG is collaborating with its business partners to develop a laptop for the middle market that will have a Ryzen 7000 CPU and AMD Radeon graphics cards. However, since that product planning has not yet concluded, there is currently no more information that can be disclosed besides the plan itself.
What about portable computers that include graphics cards made by Intel Arc?
Now, preparations are being made for producing a laptop with an Intel Arc A730M based on a reference design for an Intel NUC. At best, we should see the introduction just before the second quarter of 2023.
When can we expect the next-generation XMG CORE and XMG FUSION models?
These laptops now contain many of the performance qualities of the XMG CORE, whose continuance is still uncertain and which was made possible by an update to the XMG FOCUS’s performance in the 2023 generation.
The XMG FUSION 15 (M22), which features Intel’s Core i7-11800H and graphics cards that go up to the GeForce RTX 3070, will continue to be the most up-to-date XMG FUSION for the time being. This is especially true when because it can be purchased at a very reasonable cost. Anyone interested in buying a high-end laptop that is both exceptionally thin and light and is of the most recent generation is encouraged to check into the Schenker Vision line of laptops, which has taken on many of the characteristics of the XMG FUSION.
