The Silent Hill video game franchise is returning to personal computers and gaming consoles with several upcoming projects. These projects include a brand-new installment in the genre and a remake of the second installment in the series. According to a trustworthy source, the initiatives unveiled the previous year are just the tip of the iceberg.
Speaking on the ResetERA forums a few days ago, Dusk Golem, who had given correct details on several of these projects, stated that three other Silent Hill games are now in production. These games do not include Silent Hill:
The unannounced initiative known as The Short Message received ratings in Taiwan the week before last. It is not known very much about them, and it may be some time before we learn anything more about them because one is thought to be in the early stages of development.
In addition to the Short Message, at least three other Silent Hill initiatives have not been divulged to the public yet. Indeed, you can. However, one is still in the most preliminary stages of development.
Dusk Golem discussed The Short Message in greater detail, stating that they do not know if the game will eventually come to PC and that no one has correctly guessed its story, even though the leaker claims that it sounds pretty interesting on paper. Dusk Golem also stated that they do not know if the game will eventually come to PC.
I’ll say that this will not go in the direction you may think, and to this point, nobody has correctly guessed the tale behind this thing. I’ve mentioned it before, but I like the sound of this thing’s plot when I read it on paper. I hope they can pull off the execution well.
But I don’t want to give anything away, so I’ll say that I’m thrilled for others to experience it and that I’m looking forward to the unavoidable broadcasts and other things that people will do so that I can enjoy vicariously via those who haven’t had it spoiled for them.
As noted previously, many Silent Hill projects are now under development. These include the remake of Silent Hill 2, developed by Bloober Team, the interactive series Silent Hill: Ascension, and Silent Hill f, a spin-off game in Japan during the 1960s.
No specific release date has been announced for Ascension; however, given that the Silent Hill 2 remake is now in its last phases of production, the game that Bloober Team is creating may also be released at some point in 2018.
