The beta version of Modern Warfare 2 is now available online, and cross-platform play has been enabled.

The newest installment in the Call of Duty series, titled Modern Warfare 2 and developed by Activision, is arrived to take the action, feelings, and excitement to the next level. Excitingly, the Beta version of the game is already out and may be played by anybody interested in helping to test it.

The full version of Modern Warfare 2 is scheduled to be released in October 2022, thus Activision is holding two beta weekend events in September. The first Beta weekend has just come to a close, and gamers are looking forward with great anticipation to the start of the subsequent weekend.

Beginning on the 22nd of September 2022 and continuing until the 26th, players will be able to participate in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Beta.

The beta started up again on Thursday at 10 AM PDT, which is equivalent to 1 PM EDT and 6 PM BST. It will continue through Monday at 10 AM PDT.

The first weekend of the MW2 beta was exclusive to the PlayStation platform; however, the current weekend of the beta supports cross-play, which lets gamers on the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms compete against one another.

However, in the beginning, players on Xbox and PC who want to participate in the Beta will only be allowed to do so if they have pre-ordered the game.

Additionally, Activision has confirmed that players on all platforms will be able to play and test the game during the final two days (24-26 September) of the current Beta weekend, even if they have not pre-ordered the title. This is something that will be available to players regardless of whether or not they have purchased the game.

Does playing the Modern Warfare 2 Beta requires me to have an Xbox Live Gold subscription?

To access the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Beta weekend content, Xbox users do not require an Xbox Live Gold Subscription.

Activision just made an announcement that stated,

“Xbox Live Gold Subscription will not be necessary for Xbox gamers, for this duration only.”

PC players, on the other hand, need to have an account with either Battle.net or Steam9 in order to participate in the Beta.

Will there be other beta weekends for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in the future?

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Beta weekend that is presently available will be the only one of its kind. There will be no others.

Even if Activision has any intentions to announce another weekend or extend the dates of the current one, they have not done so publicly as of yet. In fact, they have not done any of these things.

Once the Beta testing period is done, thankfully, the game is scheduled to be released on October 28, so you won’t have too much of a wait after that!
