Crime Boss: Rockay City is a star-studded cooperative first-person shooter video game that was revealed by publisher 505 Games at The Game Awards 2022. The game is scheduled to be released on March 28, 2023, for PC as an exclusive product of the Epic Games Store.
Later in 2019, console versions of the game will be made available. Already, pre-orders for the PC version are available, and they come with a massive discount of 40 percent, which is good until the 10th of December at 4 p.m. GMT. After that point, the pre-order value will be reduced to 20% and remain at that level until the game is officially launched.
INGAME STUDIOS, which is situated in Brno, is the company that is responsible for developing Crime Boss: Rockay City. Although this is the first time we’ve heard of them, the studio website claims that they have a team of over 70 veterans who have worked on games such as Vietcong, Hidden & Dangerous 2, the Mafia series, the Arma series, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Dead Trigger, the Shadowguns series, UFO, Silent Hill: Downpour, Cold War, and Vigor. However, this is the first time we’ve heard of them.
The action takes place in the 1990s. Rockay City is a fictional city located in Florida. It is the setting of the story’s protagonist, Travis Baker’s, efforts to take over as the new crimelord of the town following the recent death of the previous one.
Michael Madsen plays the role of Travis Baker. He is accompanied in the cast by several well-known actors and actresses from the ’90s, including Kim Basinger, Chuck Norris, Danny Trejo, Michael Rooker, Danny Glover, Damion Poiter, and Vanilla Ice.
On Baker’s side are Basinger, Rooker, Poiter, and Glover; Trejo and Vanilla Ice will play opposing gang lords, while Chuck Norris will, of course, play the role of the righteous sheriff of Rockay City.
It is fascinating for 505 to be a part of Crime Boss: Rockay City due to the sheer amount of talent that is engaged both in front of and behind the camera throughout the production of the show. We couldn’t be more excited to provide this genuinely remarkable game about organized crime to players all across the world.
The gameplay is discussed in the press release, and it includes references to turf fights, heists, and wacky side storylines.
Up to four players will be able to join together in Crime Boss: Rockay City’s PvE cooperative multiplayer mode to carry out “thrilling hits and heists,” according to the game’s description. The single-player story will also reportedly be available.
Michael Madsen himself appeared in a small video that was released as a teaser for Crime Boss: Rockay City last week. In the video, Madsen pretended to be a guest at The Game Awards and presented host Geoff Keighley with a ‘lost wallet’ after announcing that he was Keighley’s number one fan.
Fans were sent to the game’s teaser website when they scanned the QR code that was contained in the wallet.
