Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT graphics cards are expected to get 200,000 RDNA 3 “Navi 31” GPUs from AMD in Q4 2022.
With a record-breaking 200,000 Navi 31 shipments for Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT graphics cards in Q4 2022, AMD will compete with NVIDIA’s high-end Ada GPUs.
The revelation, which Kyle Bennett made of (Ex-HardOCP & Ex-Intel), appears to have received confirmation from several sources. The Navi 31 GPU is the basis for AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XTX and Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics cards. While the Navi 31 chip on each graphics card has a slightly different SKU, it is fundamentally the same device but configured differently.

According to Kyle, AMD plans to deploy about 200,000 Navi 31 GPUs in total this quarter, which is a far more significant amount than what NVIDIA has distributed for its Ada Lovelace GPUs.
Given that there will reportedly be more than 30,000 reference cards available on launch day, it is expected that the remaining GPUs will be sent to AIB partners, who will likely release a sizable number of custom cards starting in the middle of December.
Contrarily, the competitors supplied around 160,000 devices up until the middle of November. 130,000 RTX 4090 (AD102) units and 30,000 RTX 4080 (AD103) units totaled that amount.
The most significant fact we know is that the RTX 4080 had a lesser launch supply than the RTX 4090 and that, despite this, the new 4080 failed to clear off shop shelves. That figure ought to have surpassed the 200,000 mark by this point.
It’s unknown how equally the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT unit counts are distributed, but finding out the precise split percentage will be intriguing.
30,000 units is unquestionably a decent number for launch, and there should be sufficient stock for players. This is consistent with past claims that AMD’s RDNA 3 GPUs will initially have a larger supply than the NVIDIA RTX 40 series.
