Players of God of War Ragnarok are having way too much fun whacking one other with the Leviathan Axe.

God of War Ragnarok has finally been released, and while the sequel does reach the highest height in merging tale and adventure, the now-iconic Leviathan Axe is what a lot of gamers are focusing their attention on at this point in the game. Because it can be flung around like a magical ice boomerang, the weapon offers a lot of opportunities for amusement and may be used to great effect.

It won’t be a spoiler if I say this, but there are some things in the game that, when struck by the Leviathan Axe, will cause it to rebound in the other direction. These things are almost like bumpers on a pinball machine.

If you approach it from the appropriate angle, you can actually get the axe to fly around in a circular pattern, volleying back and forth between these bounce cushions. Reddit user dorabase93 provides a concise illustration, explaining how this may result in the axe repeatedly bouncing between two places. It appears that Rss1176 was located in the same location and spent 16 minutes watching their axe bounce back and forth in that location.

Boozer sent a link to a YouTube video (with a little spoiler) that illustrates how this situation escalates, showing the axe moving between four separate pads in a continuous cycle. Obviously, the developers at Sony Santa Monica understood that fans would want to do something like this, so they built certain instances where trick axe throwing is encouraged.

Players in Ragnarok are having a great time even without the use of bounces when they just swing the Leviathan Axe at objects in the distance. MSI heat has provided short gameplay footage that was taken in Svartalfheim, one of the Nine Realms in the game.

Kratos is shown in this scene, which is titled “Odin Sent Me,” striking one of the All-Fathers’ patrolling ravens from a considerable distance. Ragnarok, much like its predecessor, has a large number of locales inhabited by the Odin Ravens, which may be explored in order to locate and eliminate suspicious birds.
