It has not been revealed that NetherRealm Studios will be developing a sequel to Mortal Kombat; nevertheless, fans will not have to wait too long not only for the revelation of the game but also for its actual release.

While responding to questions from fans on Twitter, Mortal Kombat and Injustice series creator Ed Boon confirmed in a not-so-subtle way that the studio’s next game may release sometime in 2023.

This is a surprising revelation, considering that NetherRealm Studios skipped The Game Awards Show 2022 last week, where many games scheduled to release in 2023 were showcased.

Ed Boon has said that we will most likely see an announcement concerning the upcoming game from the creator of Mortal Kombat within the next six months. This is due to the fact that the next game from the developer will be released the following year.

Even though it is not yet known whether NetherRealm Studios’ next game will be a new installment in the Mortal Kombat series, a new game in the Injustice series, or an entirely new project, it appears that the studio is determined to support the game for a long time. According to Ed Boon, the game should be the developer’s longest-supported title.

If the next game from the developer of Mortal Kombat arrives in 2023, then the year 2023 will be an incredible one for fighting games. This is because Street Fighter 6 is also going to launch in 2023. There has never been a more exciting time to be a fan of fighting games, especially with the release of Tekken 8 just around the corner.

Mortal Kombat 11 is the most recent game to be published by NetherRealm Studios. It is a complete fighting game that features a good array of play modes, making it appealing to gamers of all skill and experience levels. Checking out Nathan’s review is a great way to get additional information about the game.
