A New Mod For Final Fantasy VII’s Reunion Is Trying To Bring Back The Original English Voices

0 1

In addition to the many other improvements, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion includes entirely new voice acting. The performers who previously provided the voices for the characters in Final Fantasy VII Remake have returned to their respective roles. However, quite a few players prefer the original version’s English voices, and a new mod that is now accessible online intends to bring back all of those voices in their entirety.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion may now be played with the English voice acting included in the game’s first release on the PlayStation Portable (PSP). This mod was developed by Svenchu and can be obtained through Nexus Mods.

Unfortunately, the first release of the mod contains some bugs, such as one that completely mutes voices after a particular event in Chapter 2; as a result, the experience is not ideal. However, the modder has confirmed that they are working on these issues and on improvements, such as replacing combat voices and removing the new voice acting so that unvoiced cutscenes from the original will remain unvoiced in the remaster and other things.

THIS MOD Currently Consists Of Adding In:

  • 99% of the voices used in the game’s cutscenes were carried over from the PSP version.
  • (UPDATE: EVEN THOUGH THE VOICES HAVE BEEN REPLACED INSIDE THE MOD, DUE TO A BUG, EVERY GAME AFTER BANORA (Chapter 2) WILL NOT HAVE ANY VOICES)

WHAT ELSE CAN BE DONE TO MAKE THIS MOD BETTER THAN IT ALREADY IS?

  • Change the voices in the FMVs of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion to the ones from the original game.
  • Replace the voices used in fighting with the ones from the original game. (Appearing just once. The doc format has been worked out.

OPTIONALLY AVAILABLE ENHANCEMENTS

  • Altogether remove all-new voice acting, which will result in specific sequences being silent, much like in the PSP version, for players that want the game this way. (Coming soon!)
  • Eliminate “Activating Combat Mode” voices. (Appearing just once. The doc format has been worked out.

In Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion, some new changes have been universally praised, mainly the combat tweaks, which finally made the game fun to play, as I highlighted in my review. Some people may not like the new English voice acting, which I found to be solid overall. However, some of the other changes have been universally praised.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion is undoubtedly one of the greatest remasters published in recent years. It features greatly improved visuals and audio, a big combat revamp that finally makes the game enjoyable to play, and a terrific finale. Even if some of the problems in the first game haven’t been fixed, such as the sluggish pace of the tale and the lackluster writing, fans of Final Fantasy VII shouldn’t let this deter them from purchasing the game. The purchase of liberty comes at a high cost but is well spent.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion is available on personal computers, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One around the globe.
