It’s possible that another one of PlayStation’s triple-A games may be getting a remake or remaster in the not-too-distant future. An unidentified insider with knowledge of the subject has indicated, according to a previous report from MP1ST, that a reworked version of Horizon: Zero Dawn is now being worked on for the PlayStation 5.
It appears that Sony and developer Guerilla Games have decided to jump on the remake train following the divisive release and aftermath of the recent re-release of The Last of Us Part 1. Horizon: Zero Dawn for the PS5 will reportedly feature improved visuals with a focus on an improved lighting system and overhauled textures to bring the environmental and character design to the same level as that of the more recent entry, Horizon: Forbidden West.
This will bring the game closer to the level of the more recent entry, Horizon: For Additionally, accessibility features, alternative graphical options, and general gameplay that has been somewhat improved will all be included in the remade version of the game.
According to the same report, Guerilla Games may be working on more than one project at the same time, and the Horizon: Zero Dawn remake or remaster may not even be their primary focus. Further investigation has uncovered the existence of a Horizon online multiplayer game that is also in the process of being developed for both the PS5 and the PC.
There is ongoing speculation that this multiplayer version may integrate a cooperative form of gameplay within the Horizon system and that the primary focus of character creation and customization will be on the various tribes and cultures that have been introduced throughout the series.
