Ever since its launch in 2011 Dota 2 has become one of the most played games in the world. Part of the reason of its huge success is that its developer Valve Software keeps updating the game regularly. One of the biggest updates came last year called Dota 2 Reborn when the game switched from Source 1 to the Source 2 engine. While it meant a lot of graphical and technical improvements it also meant the game now required better hardware to run.
Build your own DOTA 2 Gaming PC in 2017
If you are in the market for a new computer in 2017 that will run Dota 2 than you came to the right place. We have tested the game running on the Source 2 engine thoroughly on various hardware available in 2016 and have picked the best gaming hardware that will run Dota 2 like a dream at the lowest prices. Below are the best computer specs divided by various budgets for people looking to build a PC to play Dota 2 Reborn in 2016.
Best Computer for Dota 2- The Dream Machine (Price $1500)
If you are looking for the ultimate Dota 2 experience than this dream machine will bring you that. With a computer like this you will see Dota 2 in a completely new light with graphics and performance you just did not think was possible from a free game. This setup will run Dota 2 on 3840 x 2160 resolution with everything else (Specular, Anti-aliasing, Ambient creatures) turned up to the max without a single hiccup. We never dropped below 80 FPS throughout our long sessions with no frame rate drop whatsoever even in 10 v 10 custom games which are notorious for performance issues. Loading time on average was less than 5 seconds and we were always the first ones to load!
The setup does cost a fair bit, around $1500 but it will run Dota 2 like a charm for many many years to come. You can also easily play any game that comes out in 2016 or the next couple of years. Furthermore if you are looking to increase your MMR or become a professional player than you absolutely need to make such an investment. 4K resolution and good gaming gear (mouse, keyboard, headset) give you a massive edge over other Dota 2 players and are a surefire way to becoming a better player. This is the best computer for Dota 2 in 2016, spending more money than this would be an overkill.

Other than that everything else will be turned up to the max and run smoothly at 60+ FPS.
