The official clock rates for ASUS’s custom RDNA 3 graphics cards, the TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT, have been posted on the company’s website.
ASUS has announced the custom clock speeds for their RDNA 3 graphics processing units, which are as follows: TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XTX, up to 2.6 GHz; 7900 XT, up to 2.5 GHz
ASUS was the first original equipment manufacturer (AIB) to introduce its custom AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX & RX 7900 XT graphics card range, and now the firm has become the first to divulge the clock rates of its lineup, which are up to 9% higher than the clock speeds of the reference versions.
We know that the company will only provide its TUF Gaming line of products for the time being. These products include a specialized PCB design with triple 8-pin connections and a vast 3.63-slot cooler.
According to the information provided by ASUS, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX TUF Gaming OC can deliver a ‘Game’ frequency of up to 2395 MHz and a ‘Raise’ speed of up to 2565 MHz in the default profile. It can further boost these clocks to 2455 MHz and 2615 MHz, respectively. That’s a fantastic improvement of + 6.7% for the Game clock speed and +4.6% for the Boost clock speed.
For the ASUS Radeon RX 7900 XT TUF Gaming, we are looking at a ‘Game’ frequency of 2130 MHz and a ‘Boost’ clock of 2500 MHz; however, the OC profile takes things to the next level by increasing these clock speeds to 2175 MHz ‘Game’ and 2535 MHz ‘Boost’ respectively.
This results in an improvement of +5.7% for the ‘Boost’ clocks and an increase of +8.7% for the ‘Game’ clocks. As gathered by Videocardz, the following is an overview of the clocks and their respective improvements in comparison to the standard Radeon RX 7900 XTX and 7900 XT models:
Radeon XTX OC Edition for Asus TUF Gaming Radeon 7900 XTX
OC mode: up to 2615 MHz (Boost Clock) +4.6% up to 2455 MHz (Game Clock) +6.7%
Up to 2565 Megahertz in the Default Mode (Boost Clock) +2.6% up to a frequency of 2395 MHz (Game Clock) 4.1% Increase for the Asus TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XT OC Edition
OC mode: up to 2535 MHz (Boost Clock) +5.6% up to 2175 MHz (Game Clock) +8.7%
Default mode: up to 2500 MHz (Boost Clock) +4.1% up to a frequency of 2130 MHz (Game Clock) +6.5% Clock Speed Increase for Asus Radeon RX 7900 Custom Graphics Cards:
GRAPHICS CARD | GPU GAME CLOCK | GPU BOOST CLOCK | DIFFERENCE VS REFERENCE (GAME CLOCK) | DIFFERENCE VS REFERENCE (BOOST CLOCK) |
---|---|---|---|---|
Radeon RX 7900 XTX TUF Gaming OC (OC Mode) | 2455 MHz | 2615 MHz | +6.7% | +4.6% |
Radeon RX 7900 XT TUF Gaming OC (OC Mode) | 2395 MHz | 2565 MHz | +4.1% | +2.6% |
Radeon RX 7900 XTX TUF Gaming OC (Default Mode) | 2175 MHz | 2535 MHz | +8.7% | +5.6% |
Radeon RX 7900 XT TUF Gaming OC (Default Mode) | 2130 MHz | 2500 MHz | +6.5% | +4.1% |
Radeon RX 7900 XTX TUF Gaming | 2300 MHz | 2500 MHz | 0% | 0% |
Radeon RX 7900 XT TUF Gaming | 2000 MHz | 2400 MHz | 0% | 0% |
Both the standard and overclocked variants of ASUS’s TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 series custom graphics cards will be made available for purchase. The reference clock rates are maintained by the standard graphics cards, which should also have a cheaper price.
Because all of the cards use the same printed circuit board (PCB) and power delivery system, all that is required to achieve comparable performance levels is for one person to overclock their graphics card.
Now, the question that needs to be answered is whether or not this will be the highest ASUS can go for the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX & RX 7900 XT graphics cards, or whether or not there will be later releases of variants that are even faster. By the 13th of December in 2023, ASUS is anticipated to have launched its proprietary RDNA 3 portfolio of products.
